Parish Leadership Conference 2013

On Saturday, March 30, 2013 Metropolitan Nicholas attended the Regional Parish Leadership Conference organized by the Order of St. Andrew's Detroit Chapter at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Southgate, Michigan. This event featured sessions on stewardship and planning in the parishes as well as the Archdiocesan support. At lunch, participants had the opportunity to receive the blessing and a brief message of support from His All Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew via Skype. Following lunch, Dr. Anthony Limberakis (Archons' National Commander) gave a tremendous presentation about "The Religious Freedom in Turkey and the threat to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the International Strategic Archon Response". Dr. George Demacopoulos (Archons' National Council Member & Historian) was also invited to speak about the return to our Patriarchate of the relics of St John Chrysostom and St Gregory the Theologian and other successes and challenges facing our Patriarchate.
